Happy New Year!!

As 2016 came to an end, I had an interesting revelation. When I was younger, I often felt different because as a Jew we celebrate our Jewish New Year in the fall and it often felt like the secular New Year wasn’t completely my holiday. However, this year for some reason I was filled with a feeling of abundance.  I felt blessed somehow to enjoy two opportunities to “reset” myself spiritually, emotionally and physically. Perhaps it has to do with my 2017 word of the year. Last month my blog post,  shared how much I enjoyed taking on a word of the year in 2016. I decided to do it again and determined that my word for 2017 is ABUNDANCE! Abundance has the most amazing synonyms like bounty, plethora, plenitude and wealth. I am eager to see how this mindset manifests itself in my work, life and income! Yes! I have struggled with my self worth and receiving appropriate compensation for my work these past several years. As an entrepreneur, I often felt less entitled to receive money for my time, work and effort. I often gave my time away (to worthy opportunities) and struggled to speak up about compensation for my thought leadership and valuable contribution. This year, I am making a commitment to living in abundance in every way possible including in my relationship with money. I am eager to engage in more conversations about money and get compensated even more for my work. My goal in having more abundance with money in 2017 is to be able to increase my financial generosity – to give more money away throughout the year. Let’s call them monetary mitzvahs!

What about you? Have you given thought to a word of the year? I highly recommend you consider it. Our intentions absolutely help us manifest changes in our lives.
